Küveyt Dövlətinin Azərbaycandakı səfiri Səud Əbdüləziz əl-Rumi aprelin 9-da Şəkiyə səfəri çərçivəsində bu qədim diyarın tarixi məkanları və istehsal sahələri ilə tanış olub, şəhərin görməli yerlərini gəzib.
AZƏRTAC-ın bölgə müxbiri xəbər verir ki, küveytli diplomat əvvəlcə şəhər rəhbərliyi ilə görüşüb. Şəhər icra hakimiyyətinin başçısı Elxan Usubov səfirə Şəkinin tarixi, iqtisadiyyatı, mədəniyyəti, turizm potensialı barədə məlumat verib. Bildirilib ki, Şəkidə qədimdən ipəkçilik və sənətkarlıq yüksək səviyyədə inkişaf edib. Şəki, həm də qədim tarixi-memarlıq abidələri ilə məşhurdur. Festivallar şəhəri kimi tanınan Şəkidə hər il bir neçə beynəlxalq festival keçirilir.
Səfir Səud Əbdüləziz əl-Rumi Şəkiyə səfərindən məmnun qaldığını, qədim tarixi olan bu şəhərin onda yüksək təəssürat oyatdığını bildirib.
Görüşdə, həmçinin Küveytdən olan iş adamlarının, sərmayədarların Şəkidə bəzi layihələrin icrasına cəlb edilməsi və digər məsələlər müzakirə olunub.
Səfər çərçivəsində Küveyt səfiri “Green Fagtory” və “Azəripək” Məhdud Məsuliyyətli cəmiyyətlərə baş çəkib, Şəki xanlarının sarayı, Kiş kəndindəki qədim Alban məbədi və “ABAD” Keramika və Tətbiqi Sənət Mərkəzi ilə tanış olub.
